Here are the conventions we regularly attend. If you’re going to be there too, let us know! If you’re running a convention and want our involvement, we specifically support play-and-win sections at conventions around the world. Just fill out this Google Doc (make sure to click the tab for the right year) and we’ll take care of the rest. If you’d like to join our convention demo team, we invite you to become a Stonemaier Ambassador.
If you’re attending one of these conventions and are curious if we’re carrying a specific product for you to buy there, check out this list to see if that product is included (if not, it’s almost definitely available on our webstore for worldwide shipping right now!).

Are you going to be at Origins this year?
While a couple of our team members may attend personally, we won’t have a booth at Origins this year. I’m sure you’ll be able to find Stonemaier titles at retailer booths around the vendor hall.
Are signups for Design Day coming up? I’ve never been but would love to be a part this year.
In a month or so we’ll first send an invite to past attendees, then to those who signed up for past waiting lists and back-in-stock notifications.
Sounds good. Thanks for the quick reply!
Thanks for letting us know. Also looking forward to potentially being able to participate this year!
Do you
Do champion discounts also apply for convention purchases?
Champion discounts only apply to Stonemaier webstore purchases.
That’s a shame, but understandable. In any case, we’re looking forward to the chance to try Apiary this weekend at Essen.
If Apiary will be on display, any chance of demos? Very intrigued by the game!
Absolutely! It will be available for demos and for sale!
Hi! Will there be a Stonemaier presence at PAX East this December?
We’ll have some games there through a retailer, and I think Dave is attending to scout it out for the future. :)
Ah, cool.
Sounds like Apiary will not be on display. Less important is whether the new $5 coins will be in stock there. I can always order them online.
While our plans aren’t finalized, we’re working with a retailer to make sure Apiary will be available on the show floor at PAX Unplugged in December!
I’ll encourage them to carry the Red $5 metal coins if we have the stock at that time, and they’re interested in them.
Thanks for posting the product list for Spiel. I do have one question about that list. I didnt see the Legendary box for Scythe or the promo cards for Scythe on the list. I wanted to get both at Spiel, because they are hard to get here in retail. I assume those wont be up for sale at Spiel Essen 2023?
It doesn’t look like we’ll have those products at Essen, but I appreciate you letting us know so we can take note of that!
Thanks Jamey for the quick response!
Hi. I have a question for Spiel. Is there an pre order pickup possibility voor Expeditions, like with Gen Con? I would love to pre order the ironclad edition. Thanks!!
While we don’t have a process in place for pickup of webstore orders at the show, we’ll have plenty of copies of Expeditions Ironclad Edition available for sale at Spiel!
Hi Dave. Thanks for the reply. Is there stock per day? Do you know if the stock of the metal coins and game mats is enough as well? Or can a game sell out on thursday? I really hope the game is still there in friday. Last year i missed out on 2 games. So it makes me really anxious to be in Some kind of race. If there is a way to pre-order or reserve Im happy to do that.
I’d be surprised to see demand be that high. But if it looks like we could sell out on Thursday of Expeditions products, we’ll hold some product for at least Saturday to make sure folks who can only attend for the weekend have the same opportunity to pick up what they’re looking for.
Pls note that our printing company would like to produce the games for you and I will attend Spiel Essen. Pls advise if there is chance for me to explore this opportunity in Spiel Essen with you?
Thanks for asking, but we’re not considering other manufacturers–we only work with Panda. Have fun at Essen!
Hello,
Sorry for posting another question just three weeks ago so sorry in advance for asking another one. I was wondering if the Ironclad edition of Scythe: Expeditions will be sold at Spiel Essen this year and if so what the estimated price will be.
Thanks!
Ehsan
Ask as many questions as you’d like! :) We’re going to add a Google Doc to this page in the near future showing which products we’ll have at Essen Spiel. I’m not sure if the Ironclad Edition will be among them.
Thanks Jamey! I will be patiently waiting for the list.
Hello!
Last year a lot of accessories for
Stonemaier games were available for purchase at GenCon. Do you by chance know if the neoprene playmat for Red Rising will be available for purchase at GenCom this year?
Thanks!
Luke Koch
We’ll have some of the Red Rising Natural Rubber Playmats in stock at the booth at Gen Con (#2909!). See you in Indy!
Yay!! Thank you!!
Hello! Im seeing that Stonemaier Games will attend Spiel Essen 2023 this year. Was wondering if there are any plans to sell the Scythe promo cards there (factory, encounter and objective cards) not included in the Encounters expansion. I would like to get my hands on them.
I think we can arrange that!
Thanks Jamey! That would be great! Both my gf and I love Scythe and we are suckers for more content :)
Thanks Jamey! That would be awesome as my gf and I love Scythe and because of it want all the content there is out there for the game!
Thanks! We also carry those promos in our European webstore in case Essen doesn’t work out.
This is my first time at Gencon, do you guys have promo cards or giveaways for Wingspan?
I hope you have fun at the convention! We will have plenty of Wingspan products at Gen Con (everything seen on our webstore in the Wingspan collection): https://store.stonemaiergames.com/collections/wingspan
I was wondering if you were going to release a list of what games you’ll have at your Gen Con booth this year. It’ll be my first time to go and I’m pretty stoked! I’m hoping you have the Ironclad edition of Expeditions.
We don’t have a comprehensive list yet. But I can let you know we’ve set aside copies of Expeditions (Standard and Ironclad) and some Wingspan Nesting Boxes which will be available at Gen Con ’23!
Phenomenal! I will do my best to hit the SM booth first thing to grab an ironclad edition. Thank you!
I currently have a game that I will be playtesting in the First Exposure Hall at GenCon 2023. I went through your Submission form and the only question I answered NO on was the “Blind Playtesting” as I am still refining the rulebook. May I still submit my game?
Thanks for asking, Mark! Please run at least one blind playtest before submitting your game to us.
I’ll try and run one at GenCon. Do you guys look at submissions at GenCon or come by the First Exposure Hall?
Alan is our first filter for submissions, and he doesn’t have plans to attend Gen Con (I’m the second filter, and I don’t plan to be there either). But it’s possible that some of our ambassadors may see it there!
Hello!
I’m planning to go to Essen to pitch my design to a couple of publishers and I was wondering if you guys are gonna be there :)
We will! But it’s just our business/commercial team members who will be there, not our game submission guru, Alan.
Hey! The Gen con exhibitor list was published & Stonemaier is listed as an exhibitor. Meeple source – stonemaier is also listed, so i just wondered if there was a change in plans for Gen con 2022 attendance 😁
No change of plans. MeepleSource represents us at GenCon. :)
nothing in europe :( I was hoping I could see some of your great games now at Essen Spiel
We’re not really a convention-driven company, and we only have 3 full-time employees–going all the way to Europe to establish a convention presence is tough for us to do. However, we have many localization partners (including several who regularly attend Essen, like Feuerland, Matagot, and Ghenos) where you can see our games, or you can learn about our games using the resources on our website and buy them from local retailers or from us (we have a fulfillment center in the Uk).
Hi, I saw your 2022 design day says vaccination and booster required… is that description cut and pasted from last year or has that been officially decided? there’s ample evidence out there that the currently developed vaccines don’t prevent transmission or catching of covid. i hope you’ll be welcoming of people that had and recovered from covid and don’t care to roll the dice on the side effects of the defective vaccines. if there are people at serious risk of catching covid they should stay away from crowded places because the virus is having no problem spreading through the vaccinated and boosted. hopefully no forced masking too and a policy to remove people displaying symptoms of sickness.
Absolutely, vaccinations and boosters are required; I think we’re reading different research. Based on CDC guidelines, vaccinations and boosters are still recommended at the highest level to prevent transmission. They are not “defective.” Ample evidence shows if you get COVID through new variants, being vaccinated and boosted helps your body defeat the virus faster, which is good for you and for those are you. Given the widespread access to home tests, we will probably ask for a negative test before the event, and it’s likely we’ll ask people to mask as well. We don’t “force” anyone to do anything–rather, those who don’t believe in protecting those around them simply aren’t welcome at our events. We do the same for someone who would want to, say, smoke cigarettes indoors around other people–if you’re going to endanger others, you can choose another event instead.
The reason these variants exists and are so widespread is because not enough people haven’t taken the opportunity to stop the spread of the virus through measures like vaccines and masks. I applaud anyone who has the courage to withstand a little needle to protect those around them, especially those who have weaker immune systems.
Also, the event has long since sold out to people who agree with these policies.
I’m the developer of Pipeline and I’ll be at geekway next week with a prototype of our next big game (an easy to learn programming logistics game) and a bunch of prototypes of our smaller stuff and would love to get you in a game.
Thanks Tim! If you see me (bright orange shirt), feel free to say hi. At Geekway I just play published games, but if you have your new game prototype on the table at the time, I’ll certainly take a quick peek at it. :)
Hey Jamey, I thought there used to be a Google Doc where we could add our convention for Play-2-Win support. Is P2W still something SG is willing to participate in? We are looking to feature many SG products in our learn to win series and would love some giveaways.
Yes, the link is in the first paragraph of the page you’re currently on, front and center. :)
Just checking to see if you let conventions know whether or not you will be sending games for their play to win departments when added to spreadsheet? Asking for MidSouthCon specifically.
Holly: I just tell our fulfillment center to send the games. They should provide tracking numbers when they’re shipped, but I’m not sure that always happens.
That said, MidSouthCon isn’t on the 2020 tab of the play-and-win spreadsheet.
I have fixed, sorry. It came up on my computer as 2020 at the top of my screen, but the tab was 2019.
Jamey, if one is interested in working for your company, what is the process?
The first test for a potential employee is to find the “Jobs and Careers” portion of our website. :)
Will you be at Origins in Columbus?
I’m sorry, Darren, but we won’t be at Origins.
Hi there!
Will you be represented at Essen Spiel somehow?
Frederic: A few localization partners will have our games (Feuerland, Matagot, and Happyshops), but Stonemaier Games won’t be at Essen.
Thanks for the info! I’ll have a look!
This is a message for Jamey. I’ve been reading some of your posts and see you are well respected in the industry. I have had a couple successful businesses and products during my career and now have a game I’m developing. Question:I’m sure you get asked often, do you ever consider looking at someones project in the interest of developing it? Might be fun to explore!
Thanks,
Bob Gibson

Bob: I do indeed work on developing games that Stonemaier Games signs the rights to–that’s part of my job. My job takes about 70-80 hours a week, so I don’t develop or consult on other games/projects.
