  1. I’ve been to St. Louis for a few different weeklong trips over the last few years while I’m in school. I somehow just found the recommendation list, but I’m happy to see that I’ve made some good choices while I’ve been here. Just had Dewey’s for the first time last night, and it was great!

  2. I can attest that the Shaved Duck is really delicious. Only been to St. Louis once for a long enough period of time to eat there and that was one location I wanted to seek out.

  3. Curious what you are enjoying about Earthborne Rangers. I love the Sadlers yet am cautious because of its totally open sandbox. Thoughts?

  4. Just a friendly note from a subscriber —- I would love….LOVE (!!) if the items on each person’s list were links to the referenced item.

Thanks for all your do for the gaming community — I subscribe not because I need the info, but because I just love your friendly demeanor and open encouragement you readily supply to gamers, creators, and aspiring creators, alike! All the best to you!

    1. Thanks Katie! I’ll try to do that more often. I found that I was updating my list less when I added links, and I’d rather update it monthly. But it means a lot that you’re looking at our lists, though, so I’ll try to do a better job of adding links.

      1. Jamey – thank you for responding and I totally understand!

FWIW, before I scrolled down and re-read my comment (and now saw your reply), I already had clicked all the links above :) Seriously, appreciated!

        1. Thanks! I’ve started adding links thanks to your comment. Did I add them in the right places? I’ll add one for the podcast too.

  5. Ordered my nesting box!
So great to learn a bit about the team. Alan, I love your music choices. Both artists are on most of my playlists. Phosphorescent holds a special place in my life. Jamey, I’m thinking of buying Dog Park, great looking game designed by a cool couple.
Thanks for sharing and doing all that you do! Hats off to all of you.

  6. I highly recommend the movie “Vengeance” if you can find it on a streaming service soon. My highest-rated movie of the year so far!

  7. Yes on the Covenant Cast, Jamey! I’m sure you’ve heard about the power of 7 series they are starting. Super exciting to hear designers are going to share there thoughts on potentially dangerous mechanics and of course get Zach and Stevens thoughts on it all.

    1. I’m definitely excited about that! I listened to their introduction to that series a few days ago.

  8. If you like Me Like Bees check out Desert Noises, Motherfolk or Wild Adriatic.

Weve got a local festival that brings in Me Like Bees often and a bunch of other bands in that indie rock genre.

  9. I am with you guys on Dune Imperium – that game is incredible! Also, I think it’s important to note how good some people and organizations are a spreading the love. The board gaming industry is large and growing but there seems to be a real sense of togetherness and humanity among the community I meet at the tabletop! At least for myself, I can always use a little more love in my life – so keep spreading the good word, Jamey! :)

  10. i know literally none of the things listed here, awesome! time to jump in the rabbit hole

  11. For me, the only boardgame I’ve played more than once since Covid hit is Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, with Gloomhaven having dethroned Battlestar Galactica as my personal favourite boardgame.

TV I’d recommend: She Ra and the Princesses of Power (the Netflix She Ra).

Video games: I’ve gone back to Terraria, which I first played most of a decade ago, and come back to from time to time. I’ve also got around to Tell Me Why, the latest game from DONTNOD, the studio behind Life Is Strange, which it has a lot in common with.

Books: I’ve returned to a favourite from my past, long out of print and almost impossible to find in physical form at an affordable price, but now increasingly available in ebook format (though individual titles have a habit of disappearing from the Amazon listings): the Abbey series from Elsie J Oxenham – which started out with schoolgirl adventures full of country dancing and school spirit, with a sprinkling of secret passages, secret heiresses, hidden treasures, and other adventures, then moved on to more adult themes about social responsibility, finding your role in life, and some very genteel romances as the characters grew up – except the publishers wanted more school stories, so half a dozen books got retconned in, introducing an older girl who could disappear off and return with a school-age daughter who could bring the series back to school.
