The Horticulturist has a bit of a story behind it.
Most of the visitor cards changed very little–if at all–over the course of the Kickstarter campaign. Sure, we had some tweaks here and there, but nothing big.
However, when I got the art for a few of the visitor cards, sometimes the art didn’t match the card all that well. We decided to treat this as an opportunity to change the cards for the better, to step outside the box and try a few things that we hadn’t already tried or used.
The Horticulturist was one such card. We tested the updated version (and had a number of backers test it with the tweaked cards after the campaign), and it worked great. It creates an interesting choice–when is the tipping point that a vine is more valuable as victory points than a grape producer? It’s up to you to decide.
