Whereas the summer visitor cards help you expand your vineyard, winter visitors are about reaping what you’ve sown and getting bonuses for giving up wine.
The Promoter is the one card in the game that lets you move up the residual payment tracker without filling a specific wine order. Normally when you fill a wine order, the merchant to whom you gave the wine isn’t ready to pay you in full, so he pays you over time–one lira per year from then on. The Promoter is so good at what he does that he gets you the bonus (which could add up quite a bit over the course of the game if you play it early) without requiring that you use a specific type of wine.
